Training & Nutrition - can I take Monday off please?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

last week was full of training including two consecutive days of running outside in the real world distances that I haven't run since last fall. two days of my regular intense weight training; one regular swimming day and capped with a Saturday riding longer than I have since last summer. I know I gave in to overtraining and paid the price with some pain pretty much all over. I'm trying to figure if I did anything tomorrow what would it be. and for the life of me I can't think of anything besides walking ... ugh can I please just take tomorrow off and just walk 3 miles at lunch? please? I promise I'll do something intense on Tuesday!

I thought you meant "Can I take Monday off work so I can ride my bike?"
Anyway.... yes, you may.

No offense, but I don't see what you do as training. It doesn't seem efficient or planned. I don't see any kind of rest day, and when you get the opportunity to take a rest day, you still want to do something. I'm going to lay down a bet that you don't make it to August 1st with no real improvement past mid-June.
What you might want to do is get on the usacycling.com website and find a coach. Hire one for a month and get some tips on how to train efficiently, not overtrain and exercise inefficiently- good luck.

well, not today. I'm for over training again. 44 miles yesterday; weight raining this morning; running at lunch; swimming tomorrow morning and maybe I'll bike to work on Wednesday and swim Thursday ...?
Koffee is one of our gurus.
Take her advice, get a coach.

That website is for sale, and I didn't see coaches mentioned.

What are your goals here? If it's to overtrain, it looks like you might be hitting that- your first post suggests that you're either bragging (I don't think so, but, others might) or you're genuinely getting worn out- a major symptom of overtraining. So just to repeat- what, specifically are your overall goals, and what are the goals of the components of your program? Speaking of which, what is your program?
