Sometime in the next few weeks, I'm going to meet with the city traffic engineer and discuss cycling hazards around town. Some of these hazards will be fixed quickly and most others will be fixed the next time that road work is done in those locations. I have taken a number of pictures but surely this list is incomplete. I could use the help of other cyclists in Ventura to make the list more complete. So far, I have:
bad striping Hill@Telephone
scary sidewalk Ramelli@Telephone
bad striping Montgomery@Telephone
silly ramp onto sidewalk on Telephone near Montgomery
bad striping Kimball@Telegraph
pipe hazard on pedestrian bridge over 126 on Hill
ridiculous crowning Webster@Victoria
sidewalk hazards along Victoria
bad striping exit from mall onto Mills
invisible and bad striping Main@Mills
more ridiculous crowning on east mainby Target
even more ridiculous crowning and grates on Harbor
bus stop hazards on Telephone@Victora especially near BofA
The most realistic hazards to fix involve bad striping, grinding some asphalt or running a street sweeper more frequently in some places. Tell me about any areas where you tend to do illegal movements in traffic because the ground situation makes it hard be legal. It would also be helpful to know what routes through town you use or avoid and why.
