i went to sports authority and this bike caught my eye. i think its great for my need as a recreational rider. keep in mind i also live in nyc and probably be riding it most often in central park. thanks for any all help in advance.

My dad has an older model, and I'd say it's a great bike. Looks like the only difference this year is the paint. I don't see how you could go wrong with it.

I think my dad got his for $300. Looks like $350 is average online.

The full aluminum frameset will transfer a lot of vibration to the rider. I would take it on a lengthy test ride on the kind of surfaces you intend to use it on before handing over the cash. It seems well equipped for a bike in its price range and it looks good, too. I say if the test ride is positive then go ahead and buy it but make sure to come back here share your experience with us.

it seems to have an aluminum fork, since i have no experience with al forks i can not say thats a + or _. maybe someone better versed in the fork material debate can provide some insight. myself, i am inclined towards a steel fork.

It looks like a decent bike, and probably well suited for park, and city street, use. OK components, decent gearing, looks, nice - a good buy for not a lot of money.
