hello every one...
my name is chuck and i'm from sheboygan wi {right by the "great lake michigan** i started riding last year, after many years of the martial arts tearing up my knees i needed a form of exersise that was better on my knees..[WEIGHT LIFTING MADE THEM WORSE**....

i got into winter riding this winter and was totaly amazed on how much fun and exelerating that was..went 11 miles at a temp of 6 degrees...got done and felt like i was 16 again..

i try and ride every other day {10 -15 miles**, and am looking to do much longer rides as the endurance comes. i smoked for 30 years and quit 2 years ago, i find biking realy helps get my lungs, more than anything i was doing before.

well thats about it for now, looking forward to chatting with you guys , and gals...

hello road biker
thanks for the reply,
i also studied tae kwan do, for years, but also dabbeled in judo, aikido and wing chun kung-fu {when everyone wanted to be bruce lee...:** i love doing weapons, nunchuka, and bo were my faverites. i hold the rank of 3rd degree black belt {but have been out of it for years**

as i said in my intro all the years of hitting the heavy bag with spinning kicks have taken their toll on my knees{ the shock and the fact your putting so much preasure on your knee joints when you kick will catch up with you later** , so please be careful.....i'm now 52 and also enjoy weight lifting {but never do squats** and took up biking last year, and just love that it doesn't bother my knees.... i don't compete, just ride for fun and fitness,

once again thanks for your reply and i look forward to speaking to you again ...chuck
