Newby from Indiana!

3 years ago, @ 40, I gave up smoking after 25 years and took up Mtn. Biking, since MTB clearly wasn't taking enough of my income I took up road biking also. This year I plan to get more serious about my performance on and off the road.

I have three bikes:
'72 Raleigh Supercourse (salvaged for a couple thousand road miles, now a fixed gear!)
'99 Specialized Stumpjumper - light and agile at 10 years old !
'08 LeMond Tourmalet , my first serious road bike purchased July '09

Besides cycling, I play guitar and sing in a local band and watch movies with my wife and our daughter. Life is pretty chill out here in the corn ...

I see you have found that cycling is more addictive than smoking. Do your wife and daughter cycle? My daughter (in UK) just bought a Rockhopper.

I have restored a gorgeous old Huffy three speed for my wife. She tools around the neighborhood and to the store. My daughter being 2 1/2 is just big enough for a small bike with trainers and she loves riding in the carrier.

My old 72 Raleigh. Modded/painted by Gene Spicer. My first road bike. After 2000 road miles, I fixed it and now it's my city bike. My town is flat as the pancake. Notice the shifter paddles to no where :)
