Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - please enable user thread delete

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

it's one thing to have to put up with the constant trolling that goes on in this forum, but when a thread gets hijacked by trolls or, worse, personal insults - i'd rather just see it deleted.
send a PM to a mod, and they will generally oblige.

Agreed. No reason to change.
And just because you start a thread does not mean you own it. If you want that kind of control, start a blog.

Users should not be allowed to delete threads, even when that user is the OP. A thread does not belong to anyone in particular. Letting anyone delete threads would be chaos, and make the forums pretty much worthless.

Ding ding sing! We have a winner, and that's exactly why I won't do such a thing.
If you have a thread being invaded, just report the issue using the report post function and my Mods will deal with it in a fair manner.

Threads, in almost any forum, eventually evolve ---- unless there is no interest in them.
Occasionally, they change completely!
In the grand scheme of life, it's a non-issue......
