Hello all! My wife and I are just starting to get into mountain biking. I have raced motorcycles (Enduro and Motocross) all my life, and thought this might be a good sport that me and my wife can do together as well as stay fit for racing motorcycles. I am having a little trouble deciding what might be the best bike for me. I am looking for a quality bike in the $500-$1000 range. I am 6'4" and 175 lbs. I plan on riding everywhere from simple dirt paths to a little more extreme mountain trails with minor drop-offs, roots and rocks. As well as riding around my neiborhood. I also like to jump a bit ( i did a liitle bmx, and freestyle when i was younger) for this reason a guy at my local shop suggested i get a Jamis Komodo 1. Is this a good bike for me?
I have also looked at a Felt Q620, a Specialized Hardrock sport disc and hardrock spot disc 29er, and a Jamis Durango
Any info, sugestions etc. would be really helpfull
