I'm trying to collect some info for a guy who want's to buy a bike for around $500. I looked at the Bianchi website and saw their Lynx (http://www.bianchiusa.com/lynx.html). The components are, well, crap but the frame is double-butted 7005 aluminum. Anyway, the fork is an InSync River LX with a claimed 100mm travel. I know that InSync forks generally aren't very good but I would like to know if someone could tell me more about this fork. How does it compare to other entry-level forks such as the the Suntour XC-60 or RS Judy TT?

Thanks in advance.

Crapatola Krapmeini. Look in the $500 MTB thread (click me) (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=56148)for better suggestions.

Both are crap... Bianchi's lowend mountainbikes really suck. Just about ANY bike you look at will be butted aluminum. The cheapest fork that I think isn't horrible is the RST Gila 4. Anything else RST/Nsync really sucks. I'm pretty sure he was referring you to the $500 thread because the Bianchi just sucks all around. I worked at a shop that sold Bianchi but we didn't carry their mountainbike line because the low end ones are overpriced and have no decent specs.
