BMX - Which one?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Should i buy the Hoffman Momentum EL-1 or the DK Signal?

Either bike is excellent... Really.
The EL-1 upgrades the wheelset pretty significantly, but doesn't really offer much else in improvements.
So, it comes down to which frame you like more and if the nicer wheelset is something you want to pay an extra $100.00 for now.
The wheelset that comes with the Momentum is VERY good for flatland and the Nankai freecoaster is pro standard. But, everything else, frame included, is pretty generic.
I would probably get the DK just to have something less expensive to try out and save the hundred bucks for upgrades later on. I am working on getting DK to send me one for testing so I can fully evaluate the bike out of the box. But, no word back from them yet.

no when u buy a complete bike usually all u have to do is put the handlebars, the front wheel, and i think thats it, thats all i had to put together on the last bike i ordered before my mirra flair, they dont make it hard, otherwise they get bad feedback

when i e-mailed him he said that I will have to install the front wheel, pegs, pedals, seat, handlebars and brake cables. im not sure if any of that is hard to do.

no thats not hard, if your ok with tools, all you really need is a socket wrench, some allen wrenches, a 9/16 wrench, a small wrench for tightening the chain tensioners, and a wrench for whatever size the axle nuts are (srry i forgot wat size wrench u need for the axle nuts) id say thats it, socket wrench for installin the pegs and tightening up the back wheel, a 9/16 wrench for the pedals, allen wrenches for tigtening the seat post clamp and maybe even the seat, thats it

thanks. are brake cables hard to install?
BMXTRIX

Typically the brake cables are already run, you just have to hook them up to the levers, or just install the levers. Not actually run the cables from scratch.
I am not sure whether DK would let me keep the bike after testing. I am also not exactly sure what I would do with it after I was done. If I was to keep it, then I would do a raffle or something to give it away on the site probably.

Because everyone in the flatland industry... mostly... knows who I am.
and if I gave the bike away in a raffle it would be hosted at www.bmxtrix.com and the results would be at www.bmxtrix.com... Duh! ;)

You were not necessarily going to know which is why I posted with the links. It is also why after saying 'DUH!' I put a ;) winking smiley face so nobody who didn't know the site would take it seriously.
So seriously... chill! :D
