Introductions - Newbie from MI

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am a married mother of 2 kids (3 and 1) I am a retired police officer who was hurt on the job and had a Spinal Fusion L-5/S-1 in 2004. I was always very active and athletic until I was hurt. Now I find that I have to tweak my workouts around my back. I used to be an avid Mountain Biker but gave my bike away (Raleigh) after the dr told me I shouldn't ride anymore. I have since gotten other opinions from Neurosurgeons saying it's ok to ride moderately. So, I came to this forum in hopes of support and encouragement that there is active life after back surgery:) I look forward to learning more about a bike that will fit my body and injury so I can get back on my way to my active lifestyle I am so accustomed to.

Welcome aboard!
I see in the Recumbent forum that many people with back problems find a recumbent to be the right choice.
