I am now married for my third and last time. I say this because I feel if a person fails after three marriages they should accept that they are a dismal failure at matrimony, and give it up. I think there should be a ‘Three strikes, you’re out’ policy for marriage; after that a person should have their license revoked or something.

Hey, if Brittney Spears can do it, anyone can! ;)

Good luck with it all... I hope the third time's a charm!

man.. was it really your fault or yer ex wifes? ya know.. just because ya love someone doesn't mean they are marriage capable. people always seem to use each others weaknesses against each other in marriage instead of using it as an opportunity to help each other out and such.

don't do that first part of the last sentence, and make sure yer woman doesn't either. most people aren't capable of marriage.

Are you marrying the same of girl each time. I have a friend who keeps falling for the same type of man.. I could tell after she moved in with the current BF that it won't last. He looks different than the first 2 hubbies, but he acts the EXACT same way. Some people will never go for someone that is good for them.

Hopefully you chose smarter and picked someone whom is your best friend as well. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Fortunately I’ve got it right this time. Coming up six years now and it’s still a honeymoon whereas both my previous were in serious trouble by this time.

I agree with you, some of us make poor choices and the same mistakes over and over. My point is I think a person should have figured it out by the third time around.

I agree and am glad you have the right one. You are overestimating human intelligence :p if you think most people look objectively at their choices.

HI Dave, Dave here. :)

Congratulations and many happy years ahead of nuptial bliss.

On a totally different note, have you kept up much with custom frame building in the US? I'm curious who you would recommend (if anyone) for repainting a frame. Thanks,

Dave (a Moulton frame fan)

Maybe people who are married many times like being married, but want more variety?

Congratulations and good luck!

I am happy to say that I just passed my 7th. anniversary last month and no it wasn't all a walk in the park. We went through some pretty tough times but we were able to work things out. Good luck to you.

On a related note, this kind of reminds me of an old USENET post to alt.suicide.holiday (http://www.neebu.net/~khuon/humour/funniest_flame_ever.txt)... (Warning - contains crass and crude language)

There's a name for this; it's called 'serial monogamy'.

I'm still amazed people need a licence to get married over there.

Yup.. same in Canada.. You need a license, infact you need something else in Canada (or Ontario) before you can get a Marriage License -- I think a certificate authorizing the marriage or something.

Lucky enough to get it right the first time! It's not always butterflys and rainbows though, it's work for sure. But in the long run there isn't anybody else I could stand to live with. He puts up with me and I put up with him, oh yeah, and we love each other too!!

I think you still do here, but its likely less complicated that over there. And you need a copy of the decree nisi if you have been divorced. Voice of experience... came close a second time, but better judgment prevailed.

Does that also apply for mail-order brides? (j/k)

I hope you got it this time. I believe I'd be lost without my wife.

No, you just need a catalog number.
