1984 trek 420 girls bike in very good condition, does it have any value? i'm thinking of converting it to comfort handle bars for my girl friend as a cruiser. It has original Belgium wheels good paint no rust, and the gears shift perfect. I think it is a Japan built frame by the 9 digit serial number starting with 407****** . Simplex 54 or 56 cm frame.

It should be a great bike, fix it the way she likes it. http://www.vintage-trek.com (http://www,vintage-trek.com) is an excellent reference site for older Treks, it lists serial numbers so you can confirm exactly what model you have and how it would have been equipped. Check it out.

All cleaned up, serviced and ready to go, in a good market, it would be worth around $200 +/-. Mixtes are hot, and not many Trek mixtes out there.

Well, I was out today looking at parts and other used bikes and I found a bike that will fit my needs perfectly and I will not need to change this old trek after all. The bike I bought today is a Paris Sport by Victor Cycles and I will be starting a new thread to find out more about that one. I'm new to this site but it is awesome and I love the old vintage bikes.

Thankyou for the replys.
