G'day All. I am soon to take a short break in Singapore with my girlfriend (whom i put off a two month cycle tour in SE Asia for, in Jan/Feb ) and I am hoping to hire a Tandem for us to ride around on (she isn't confident on a bike so my thinking is if we can have fun cycling in Singapore maybe a touring plan can be made for next holidays - though i reckon my Thorn Raven may have to make way for a touring bicycle made for 2).
If anyone has ANY ideas i would very much appreciate being pointed in the right direction - my web searching has brought no joy at all.
Cheers and beers
Richard

Hi kakadudude

You can hire tandems for cruising up and down the East Coast Park, these are usually rented out by the hour. There are many shops that have this service but the bikes are "ropey" at best. They are not touring bike more beach cruisers.

If you want the bike for a few days then I would suggest you head to T3 bicycles: http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel_id_35943/travel_site_67749/

This is a decent shop that also rents tandems so they maybe able to hook you up.

By the way cycling on Singapore roads is sketchy at best. Driver awareness isn't the best. There is a network of MUPs that you can use, T3 is actuall on one of them.

pm me if you need any more info.

(thanks Ritterview for your pm telling me about this post"

G'day Rollin
Many thanks for the info - the link worked a treat and it seems it's at the area i was thinking of doing the cycling, so now I just need to chase it up.
Much appreciated.
Cheers
Richard
