I was recently given a 1984 Schwinn Paramount bike from a friend. It appears to be in very well condition, made in Italy. The story I got was it was given to my friend by one of Greg Lemond's trainers. It has Look clip-in pedals, a shimano biospace from crankset and a french rear components I cant figure out. I am curious as to what about it would be worth. Thanks for the help.

Well I'll say it because I know someone else will if I don't. We need pics or we can't be of much help.

That combination is just too funny, considering that a 1984 Paramount would have been built at Waterford (Wisconsin) or Japan. If the Italian heritage came from the same person who told you it came from one of Greg's trainers, I wouldn't put too much weight on the legitimacy of the second story either.

Pictures would be helpful.

All 1984 Schwinn Paramounts were built in Waterford, Wisconsin, and no Paramounts were ever built in Italy.

Can you post photos?

don't forget the Schwinn BioPace (in 84?) and the french components in the rear.

About the crazy components on this: '84 Paramounts were available as framesets only. Biopace was introduced in 1983 (Look pedals are later), so this eclectic build might be original. (still need to know more about what are those mystery "french" components and hopefully some pictures). '84 Paramounts had Columbus SL/SP frames so the Italian connection might be on the frame (and possibly on the components if these "french" components are Campy)
