Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hello everyone. I recently relocated to the Austin area for a promotion at work from southern California. I moved into a nice area on Lakeline in Cedar Park.
Can anyone recommend some areas to ride? Riding Clubs? Shops?

I also live in Cedar Park, I'm always up for a ride but I'm assuming you are faster than me :-)
suggestions:
1) go to a few ACA rides, www.austincycling.org they have a lot of them and the turn out is pretty good
2) If you are into racing, you may want to hook up with the Violet Crown group
3) I'm partial to bicycle sport shop on 183, there are a fair number of other shops around though so it depends on what you are looking for.
feel free to send me a PM about going on a ride. Saturday is the Cow Patty classic that is close to you.

they have a registration team fee of $25, but they don't require it if it means sacrificing a possible team member, i've been told.

the guys at austin cycle camp are a good bunch to tie into.
Bicycle sport shop on 183/ Braker ( not far from you ) is a good shop and they are starting back up their Sat AM ride- 8:30 AM start - 25-30 miles and pretty hilly. Come on out and check the BSS ride. I am going to do it a few times a month, and helping get it ramped back up. I will be on a Fuji and in BSS kit. Mention to me you had posted on BF.
The violet crown one is longer 50+ miles usually.
It also depends on what type of rides you are looking to do.

Ill definately keep that one in mind. Sounds like it may be a good ride for me to get back into riding shape. The higher elevation here has been killing me for the last couple of weeks. Hopefully Ill be ready for that one next week. Thanks to everyone for the tips. Always looking for more. I rode Lime Creek through Volente the other day and really enjoyed it. Just need to get my legs back :D

This Sat should be a good ride @ BSS North as Austin Cycle camp will be there for their Sat training ride. Should have 20+ riders. Giving out some free gels etc.

I went to Buck's Bikes today which is down the street from BSS north and it was a pretty nice shop as well if Giant bikes are your thing.
