Hel, folks --

Cleaning out my mother's house, I found a red Raleigh Space Rider circa 1972 (the brochure said the new Raleigh US offices would be open in 1973). It was new-in-the-box and in excellent shape. The paint and decals are pristine, and the Brooks saddle that was still in its plastic bag is in great shape. The only reason I'd say it's not in mint condition because the box was in a garage and the chrome on the handle bars has lost a tiny bit of luster. And unfortunately, the box was not in salvagable condition. But the bike itself works great! The tires even hold air after all this time. I did make the mistake of putting it together, but that was before I knew what I was looking at.

My next-door neighbor, an avid bicyclist, thought it was a pretty great find.

Any ideas on this form on what something like this is worth?

Is it such a classic that I should sell it to someone who appreciates such things, or is it common enough that it would just be something really cool for my kids to ride when they feel like going old-school?

Thanks!!!
