That just goes to prove that hummers were the wrong choice for Afghanistan or Iraq. They should have sent school buses.

That's obviously fake! The heavy front-end of that Hummer would've completely destroyed the rear-end of the bus. You should see a 1:1 crumpled zone on both sides, perhaps even more crumpling on the bus's end.

If it's fake, someone went to a helluva lot of trouble for it.

Apparently not faked. A little googling yielded this:

The crash was on Madison Avenue in Indianapolis.
"Police said Sabrina Trotter, 44, the driver of an Indianapolis Public Schools bus, stopped on the road to take a cell phone call from her mother.
Police said the driver of a Hummer, John Northrop, 54, was going northbound and was tuning his radio when he plowed into the back of the bus.
Northrop suffered minor injuries. Police ticketed Trotter for an improper stop."

The hummer slammed into the back of the bus so hard it lifted the wheels of the bus off the ground. It's fun to pick on hummers, but when you get in a crash like that and walk away (there's not even any blood on the airbag) it's pretty impressive. This is a case of bus vs. bigger bus. Bigger bus wins, but nobody gets hurt. Sub-compact vs. bigger bus doesn't end up so pretty.

So the bus driver stops ON THE ROAD to take a cell phone call. The Chevy Blazer with a Hummer body hits it from behind at speed due to playing tune in Tokyo while driving.

Both drivers should get a blaze orange vest and a pair of sneakers from the state DOT.

Scares me how that fake Hummer got smashed so bad but good to know the driver fared good. Also nice to see the bus was hardly damaged.

Impact was so hard the back window of the Hummer blew out. I think the Smart Cars did better with that, hitting a solid object head on and the front window didn't even break.

Okay one more, not crash related. But this has the Hummer in it.

I think the Smart Car is hella badass!

I'm not a fan of hummers, but a shorter car probably would have gone underneath and just sheared off the top of the car (and its occupant). Don't most big rig trailers have those metal bars to prevent cars from diving under?

Problem with this wreck is that the bus was empty and the bumper is so high off the ground. Hummer went under the bus due to light weight at rear. Looks like the crumple zones on the Hummer could not work because the Hummer went under the bus and the greenhouse took all the impact. This is all conjecture on my part. I have no experience in judging crash dynamics and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

so much for a hummer protecting you in the event of a crash. glad the bus remained intact
