I need some tips on building dirt jumps. I've made several attempts and failed misserably. So who can help me? I need advice on things like. Lip size and height of the jump in proportion to the gap and the landing (tranny) how steep to make the tranny. Things like that. Thanks. (Pics would be appreciated)

most important tip i can give in building dj's is to pack the dirt as you build - as opposed to just piling up the dirt then packing it at the end. if you do this the lips will settle a lot quicker and be a lot stronger/harder than if you just pile up the dirt then pack it after. they should last longer too.
about size, height and gap distance, that all depends on what you want and the space you have available. the steeper the lip, the higher the arc of your "flight path" will be. you'll get more height than distance. the gap distance will depend on how fast you want to hit the lip as well as how steep it is. all that stuff's related one way or another (i.e., size, steepness of lip, gap distance, etc.).
if you're unsure about whether or not the gap is too short or too long, i'd suggest building up a table or a half table so that if you case, it won't be so bad. after you dial in the right speed to hit the lip at, you can always dig out the table.
here's a picture of the big half-table they got at one of the dj spots i go to:

Start small, you really don't want to start off by running on helltrack style dirt jumps.

don’t use too many logs in the jump. the jump will be more solid the less you use. if you’re going to use logs, use them as supports to help keep the dirt in instead of using them as a base, piling them up and then dumping dirt over them. piling stuff up as a base before dumping the dirt on them leaves too many air pockets – which isn’t that great.
make your jumps out of dirt and make them solid by packing the dirt every few inches or so. your jumps will last longer by doing so.
