Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Gloves

Guys,

I am looking for a full fingered cycling glove that comes in 2x. I have an issue when my hands get cold they hurt for days. Not a good thing when typing is part of your job. Anyone have any experience with any full fingered? I tried using my harley glove underliners but they don't work well. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a pair of Pearl Izumi Cyclone full-fingered gloves that I love. I tried a number of full-fingered gloves and the Cyclones were the only ones that seemed remotely wind-proof. They're not insulated, so they won't work in super-cold temps. Mine are great down to around 50 degrees. They're supposedly available in XXL.

+1 on the PI Cyclones. I prefer the open finger style, so I don't often wear them until it gets below about 60F...and when it gets much below 50F I just stay home :).

Another vote for the Cyclones. They are a wind-resistant fabric, and even when sopping wet they stay reasonably warm. I wear mine all the way down to 35 degrees in the rain before I switch over to the heavy duty winter gloves. (PI Lobster Mitts)

Neoprene fishing gloves... Your hands will be toasty! They are not as bulky as they sound, either. I also have some Champion running gloves from Target, that are a "softshell" fleece that do pretty darn well in wind. I use them mostly for walking in colder weather, have used them on cold weather bike rides, they do fine. Softshell fleece is the most amazing thing...I hate wearing big bulky jackets, in fact I got through most of this winter wearing only a fleece.

I also highly suggest getting your hands looked at. Sounds like some nerve damage or carpal tunnel?

I would give these a try.. Older style pro team issue gloves.. I would go with the Banesto style gloves, plenty warm and very generous sizing.. The seller is in Ireland but I have been buying from her for years, items get to usa in 5-7 days.. Most of what she sells is older authentic pro team issue items..

I just use ski gloves. If I'm on a flat bar bike, I can get away with my 3 finger gloves. I find those a lot warmer.

Swix makes a lot of cross country stuff that works pretty well above freezing. Below 30 degrees or so, I have to bust out the downhill skiing stuff.

Nymtber, no need to get it checked out. My dad and grandfather had the same thing. I talked to my dr. He said to just deal with it that the meds that might help aren't necessary yet. Oddly enough when I was 600 lbs the fat insulated them quite well.

The only issue with XC ski gloves is they don't have any palm padding. (Unless things have changed from back when I used to race.)
