Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Recently, during a visit to my daughter, I explored Brooklyn and Manhattan on my bike, which I shipped from Los Angeles.

I've posted several photographs of my first ride here, on the fg/ss board here (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?632890-A-Los-Angeleno-His-Fixed-Gear-in-NYC-Brooklyn-to-the-Cloisters&p=10603226#post10603226). Feel free to take a look.

Considering my age (62), I think I accounted myself well on my tours, which included a ride from Brooklyn to the top of Manhattan, a round trip of about 40 miles, on my fixed gear bike.

Here's are a couple sample photos from the set:

NYC is fantastic! Where is that bridge you were on?

That's the bike-friendly Williamsburg Bridge. I also rode on and over the George Washington Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge.
