i know... but i need a turn key purchase that will not bust the bank. i dont even know if it would be what i am looking for so let me expand on this.
i had a bianchi BOSS that i put slicks on and i fell in love with it! but then when i moved i felt the need to sell it and then buy an new ride when i was settled in. well, i got lame and bought a specialized P1 thinking it would be fun. (rode it once and now it sits in the back room) so i was thinking that i liked the SS road type ride and have been doing some hunting for bikes. so far the langster looked like a good choice. i wish i could get the old style country road bob... anyway, i am on the hunt! anyone want a new P1?

I really like my Langster. I wouldn't try to specifically recommend anything to anyone without knowing their situation, but for me it is fine and I wouldn't have any reservations recommending it if an affordable ready-built SS road bike is what you know you are looking for. But then I am just a pathetic loser who doesn't ride the latest hippest coolest stuff, just the stuff that works for me. :(
But enough about me. As for the Langster: The brakes are not greatest (Tektro) but they do the job, and the BB is a little sketchy but other than that it is fine. I'll probably replace the BB soon and I am undecided on what I want to do with the brakes, as like I said, they do the job.

How about a bianchi pista? An IRO? They are a touch more expensive, but both are steel, which might be more comfortable to ride than the aluminum Langster. I have also heard that big fellas break Langsters, so if you are above 200 lbs you may want to look elsewhere. I have head the BB on the Langster is crap, but what can you really expect for so little money. The Pista is not much better on that score, truth be told. But at least it is steel.
