That's right, your favourite tail lamp/blinkie, the super flash will be recalled in short time.
Batches made between between Apr.1/04 and Dec.31/09 are affected. The Stealth Flash is not affected.
There have been numerous reports of Super Flashes spontaneously falling off the bike or catching fire under certain conditions. This problem has been identified as a failure of the bike to capture the excess heat from the device because a poor mating between the surface of the lamp and the frame of the bike.
A recall announcement is pending, but here at BF, we have the latest scoop and have given you a heads up warning. In the mean time, if you own one, you are advised to use clear packing tape or zip ties to hold them to your bike. Rubber bands will not do.
PS. look at the date.
