I guess this is the year for me to take advantage of some fortuitous early season form.

In March I got in...

1 Double Century
2 Centuries
1 Metric
2 Fifties
and some change for 641 miles.

So, let's keep it rolling here with...

The Hemet Double Double Century (http://www.inlandempirecycling.com/HemetDC/index.htm) on April 17th

This way with the Solvang Double already under my belt I can qualify for the Triple Crown by May 15th at the Davis Double. It will be nice to do it on my "home court".

I just signed up.

Who else is in?

That one is too far for me, although I would have loved you as a teammate again. I am targeting Davis and Eastern Sierra. ES is also quite far but the scenery is unbeatable.

I was going to do ESD, but after Solvang I am off Planet Ultra rides until they decide to be nicer.

DMD, Mt. Tam, and/or Knoxville will have to round out my 3 this year.

Hemet is put together from a different group, but can't remember what the experience is like. On the bubble ...

Mr. Lance Oldstrong, I do believe I'll be joining you for this second leg of the assault on the California Triple Crown.
I'm sure some day epic poems and ballads will be written about this adventure.

EDIT: The check is in the mail. Really. You have to pay by check. I had to search for my checkbook, an envelope and a stamp. So retro!

I just took retro to the next level and actually drove my check to the post office to mail it.

What's next, wool jerseys and down tube shifters?
