Texas - Connecting the Trails: North Dallas to...?

My usual ride is White Rock Creek Trail to the Lake, do a few loops and then head back home. Today I went from the Lake to Katy Trail via Monticello which was a nice change. Is this the best way to connect to katy trail?

Are there other trails good for cycling that can be connected to with minimal road time or using low traffic roads? I've heard about the cottonwood, preston, and north preston but have no clue if those trails are officially open or if they can be connected.

Thanks for the help! A map of my current trail is linked to (if I don't go back home I go to the northern most point of the white rock trail, i believe around hillcrest & 635), can i connect and go farther north?

at the north end of the white Rock trail, take Petyon the Meandering, North on Meandering, when you get to Belt Line you'll see a path on the right. that goes up into Plano, not sure where it terminates.

the long term regional plan is to have all these connect. right now Richardson and Plano are planning a connector in the area of Renner/75 for their networks.

Ahh perfect thanks. I'm terrible with trails, takes me a good few times before I can navigate without getting mixed up!

Since I live at Renner and 75, I can tell you that construction is underway, concrete has been poured on the west side of the 75 service road to cross under 75 at the creek just north of Renner. Pretty excited to see how this all turns out.

That trail connects, or will connect to the Cottonwood trail, and the Preston Ridge Trail in Plano. You can also connect to the White Rock Creek trail but you'll need to share a lane for a few blocks. Let me know if I can provide more details.

Looking at the artifacts of the video, its a regular digital camera. If it was helmet mounted it would jiggle around alot more, so it was probably just handheld.
