General Cycling Discussion - Helmet suggestions

Hello all, I'm looking for a new helmet and want something different than I've used before. I'm selling my hybrid and tossing my Lycra in favor of my soon to be new Electra Super Deluxe and casual shorts. I've been looking for a helmet to "match" my new cycling life. Posting on Kickstand Magazine's facebook page, they suggested looking at the Nutcase line of helmets. I do like their British Union Jack design but wanted to be sure there was nothing else I like better. So that said, does anyone know of another helmet manufacturer doing business in the states that has something designed for vintage styled cruisers?

Funny but just as i read your post, a cute couple (looked to be in there 70s) rode by on cruisers with baskets and all with no helmets, we dont have a helmet law for those over 18 years old here. When cruisers came out way back when there were no helmets so im not sure there is a style helmet for them. But some of the younger crowd that ride them do wear something similar to skate boarder type helmets. I think the Nut Case line would work great and might provide greater protection than the more "standard" helmet used today.

I figured most people who ride cruisers wouldn't wear a helmet. I've taught my two kids never to ride or skate without one so I can't go againt my own teachings. On a "real bike" the newer light race style helmets look fine; on a cruiser or chopper they look just goofy.
