Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

well at least it feels that way here in vegas ;)
Anyways I did my first ride of the year in shorts, it's about 72 degrees today, sunny warm and not a cloud in the sky. with little bit of a breeze. It was a lot of fun, hopefully it will stay this nice for a while :D
(just figured I'd give you east coast people some wishful thinking, pretty soon it will be this nice all over ;) )
It was like that in Atlanta on Saturday. High temperature about 72 degrees.
I left the house in shorts with a light windbreaker over a short sleeve jersey. I had to take the windbreaker off after about 6 miles. Started raining about 30 minutes after I got home. :(
But it looks like Spring is definitely on the way. Lows are predicted to be in the 40s and 50s for the next 10 days and highs in the high 60s and 70s. :D

Hey! It was quite nice over here in Connecticut too! Seriously, for once it was quite nice. Well, on Saturday that is because after Saturday rolled right by, Sunday and now Monday, dude it was soooo windy, but um, considering that I'm pretty dumb, I went biking in the windy weather. It was really nice out though on Saturday. I biked like 8 miles. It was run! There were so many hills on the road that I was on though. That's all right, it was all worth it. I don't know though if the warm weather is gonna be good though cause I can't function well in heat. I rather bike in the cold, that's what I've been doing. Oh, I'm an all year round biker! Yeah, and I mean, at least you can layer up in the winter!!! Well, c-ya!
On saturday we had a freakishly warm day- 15C which is about 60 degrees. We've had a very mild and nearly snowless winter, but this was just bizarre. However, by evening we started seeing high winds, and there was a wind warning! The temp dropped and the next day it was back to march weather. Cold, very windy and with snow squalls. In fact, in some places the winds did all kinds of damage and there were power failures. We knew it wouldn't last but it was nice!

I should point out that in Las Vegas, there are pretty much only two seasons, hot and cold ;)
pretty much spring and fall are so short you hardly notice they went by. in a few months we'll get temperatures into the triple digits and as high as 120 F.
It's at this time when you either ride in the early morning or at night, otherwise you can get heat exhaustion :(
fun stuff :D

Hahaa, yeah I know what ya mean Jon R! It's sooo bad in the heat. I can't do it! I'll take up kayaking for the summer, but then I'll miss biking! Man... I wish I lived in a controlled bubble where I can just turn the AC up when it gets hot so that I can bike all around without breaking a sweat!

It was nice here yesterday, I rode in shorts and a long sleeve jersey. Today wasn't too bad either. I got in a short ride after work. Hopefully the warmer weather is just around the corner so we can all ride as much as we want!

Yes, members who lived with four season better take advantage of the short 3 to 4 months of warm weather
