Foo - So, what are you doing tomorrow (Sat)? I'm looking at an unheard of 80F for April!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It was 70 plus today - and for the commute in - it was a terrible struggle with my bike to get it to go into the office building today, it was horrible - bike almost won - but I overcame!!! HA!

But Saturday, I promised my lonely roadie a nice 40 miler plus. Just a blah flat scoot up the Erie Canal. Or I may take the off-roader out - depending on the trails though.

BTW - I've never seen the Erie Canal so DRY!!! They always drain it during the winter - but there's water in it - these pics were taken yesterday by a friend of mine - amazing!

You didn't??? I thought we sent one to all the girls. After the mess (sigh), I threw mine away, and all others were destroyed.

Running 3-6 miles, depending on my mood. I may do 3 tomorrow and 3 Sunday, as I hate running in rain and its supposed to be raining Monday morning. I'm getting ready for a 5K May 1st and trying to get back into running regularly - say 50-60 miles a month, tops - after spending most of the past year and a half away from running.

I have, sadly, not been on my bike - except the drainer briefly - hardly at all this year. Part of this is due, I'm sure, to my Mother's passing and realization that I can't be there for my kids if I'm smeared on the pavement commuting in the dark months - especially when I get a free bus pass and the bus stop is literally a 3 minute walk from my front door. Not to make a bad pun, but I go through cycles in riding, and I don't think I'm going to ride my bike much this year. And when I do, its going to be slow and with the GF and looking at nature and stuff.

I'll likely put in at least an hour on the guitar, and I've got a new Zoom H2 digital recorder I'm going to play with... want to start recording myself when I practice, and also get good audio of the jam sessions so I can archive 'em for posterity and also have a set for my children. Very sadly, I have only one partial recording of me jamming with my late grandfather, who was a very good jazz musician. With both of my parents passing last year, I've become keenly aware of how important I have plenty of stuff for my children to remember me by when they get older, doing the thing that I love with the most passion, which is playing music.

And, ironically, we are going to have crappier weather than parts of the Midwest and East Coast this weekend. But we *do* need all the rain (and snow cover in the mountains) we can get.

It's been 2 days straight with 95 degrees in the afternoons. Short lycra again reign supreme.

Tude, those pictures are almost enough to make me homesick. The canal in Rochester was one of my favorite places, and the spring up North is great. Not that I would give up my jungle for it you understand...

Stay out of P & R, it helps reduce the stomach pains...

I think it's related to my recent spate of over eating, rather than stress induced...

It is awsome - my house is 4 miles from the South entrance and I probably ride the entire length, incorporated in a loop, 4 or 5 times a year.

Wow! Next time I am down that way, I will let you know. I have thought of buying a junk of land around Letchworth. I used to hike in it all the time, with the turn around place Glen Iris Inn, for the brunch!!! :D

I'll be sitting around whining about the 33mph wind with 45mph gusts. No riding for me. :(

It's a very nice 56 F right now, with highs of 68. A good day to be cycling around town, which I'll be doing to put up and distribute fliers for the lost doggy. Might as well get a pootle out of it eh?

My lazy morning interruption is french press coffee and a peanut butter on a flour tortilla preparing for 80 miles on the hills north of Ensenada, Mexico. Will send my good weather your way. :thumb:
