How much does it does cost to ship a tandem in a cardboard bike box?
Assume west coast to east cost and insurance to cover $2000.
Also cost for a shop to pack it up.

FedEx, UPS, etc. all have on-line shipping cost estimators and could pick the box up at the shop. Shop cost will vary.

fwiw, 2 years ago I paid about $110 to ship a tandem from Wisconsin to Washington.

I just had quote to ship mine from Montréal to Vancouver: can$92 + tax.

It's freight rather than parcel and it's a commercial account -- I couldn't tell how much it affects the price...

Ended up selling it to a local buyer. My wife and myself were sad to see our faithful Santana go after so many years and memories.
