I got mine less than a week ago and it seems great. I had my LBS switch the stock knobbies with the Bontraeger Inverted Street tires in Kevlar. I mainly ride road and bike paths. Only rode it a couple times but so far it's better than anything I've had in the past. I got the blue and yellow color in the 19.5" frame and it cost $299. Don't see why Trek discontinued the 4100, added the 3900 then raised it's price $10. Oh well it's nice.

I bought one a few weeks ago... damned if I didn't screw up my knee. Rode it just once, but I love it! I have the grey version (the yellow and blue just stuck out too much for me). Put a set panniers on it, a map pack, and I will be working toward going to Yellowstone next May (gotta get the knee happy first), along with saving gas while commuting by bike. :-)

What kind of rack and panniers did you install Renee? I'm needing to get some as well for a trip next summer. I liked the color you got but I liked the blue and yellow because it DID stand out. I want to be seen even if they are rather bold colors for my age.
