Hello fellow tandemites. We purchased a Cannondale road tandem equipped with Avid disc brakes. Does anyone know of a rear rack that fits around the disc brake? :) Any leads appreciated.

I used a Topeak disc rack on mine. It is normally for 135, but it spreads out just fine.

FWIW, the rack we use is clamped only to the seatpost.
The style we use is an MTX e type.

On this we run a Topeak Trunk Bag, pretty certain it's this one.

This setup works well for us, no concerns with the brake, easily installed or removed for use on another bike. Decent amount of space.
About the only couple of drawbacks has been if a tired stoker leg kicks and spins it while mounting/dismounting. Also, it has a stitched in strap to mount a rear light, this could be done a bit more universal.
If you plan to go this route, be certain you get all components from the same family. Topeak had two different rail styles which made it a bit confusing when looking in catalogs and even at the shop.

We use the Topeak and infact I also have a Topeak non-disc rack on my Specialize I use to ride to work. I have two different Topeak bags that fit, one with panniers for carrying more clothing for work. The rack is great. We have a 2007 C"dale road tandem too.

Ditto on the Topeak. Good quality rack. Fits my C'dale (with disc brakes) just fine.
