Hello,

Last fall I rescued this bike from the trash, gave it some life-support and a lot of love and rode it all last winter hear in Toronto.

It has been a great bike, a solid cro-mo frame, deore components, but the only problem has been that the frame is a bit too large for me.

I have been thinking of selling it, but I'm not sure what a fair price would be. Does $200 sound outrageous?

I've never even heard of a Custom 2000 from Giant. Web searches haven't turned up much either. I'm nervous that it's a really valuable bike that I've been riding through salt and snow.

Any information would be appreciated,

Thanks!

Hi there!

I know this bike quite well... I own 4 of them :-)

The first one I bought with 18 in The Netherlands. It cost 1800 guilders, approx. 700 USD (best guess)
The Custom 1000 model was a lot cheaper, 1000 NLG.

It's a high quality bike and was sols as "hybrid". Because MTB's were starting to become very popular, Giant combined the adsvantages of big wheels (stability) with Shimano Deore LX parts and MTB looks. The 1993 Deore LX was situated below Deore XTR, XT and DX but was above 300 LX and 200 GS.

I see you made some modifications (V-brakes) and the whole thing could use some oil (and a new chain).

Have fun with your Custom 2000!

Greetings from Germany, Frank
