hey guys, I was riding with my buddy yesterday, and we were on the road in a staggered i formation. We were going southbound on the road when all of the sudden vehicle crosses to turn on the road going north. she said she saw my friend and didn't see me. I went straight into her going around 15 mph over the car and on the road. I was in shock and didn't want any treatment, hour later i started hurting really bad. Even though i looked alright with a few scrapes i actually had a swollen spleen from hitting the car and a hairline fracture in my neck. I guess what i am trying to say is, even though you think you are alright, it is probably best to go and get checked out. better to be safe than sorry. I am sorry to report though that now I need a new wheelset, fork and maybe new shifters. If you have any interesting vehicular collisions please flatter me and share. i will try to put a picture up.

Forget about the bike, how are you doing? As you've seen your bike can easily be repaired or replaced. Us on the other hand not so much. Take things easy over the next week or so, follow all of your doctors instructions and get well.
You did get all of the driver's information, right? If so and her insurance gives you a hard time contact a lawyer and make sure you get what you are entitled to to cover your medical bills and repair to your bicycle. And do not post anymore description about the crash to The Internet. As her lawyer, and her insurance company lawyers will be able to find it and use it against you.

thanks digital cowboy. I am doing good, just really really sore. Don't worry I have all the information, and I am not posting anything else like details on the web. I just thought I would share my story with the bike community. I know I shouldn't worry about my bike, but I have a connection with it. I will rest up and recover and then be back on the saddle again.

As is stated on every accident thread here, unless the accident was totally minor, always go get checked out, and never say you're alright until at least a week has passed. It takes time for injuries to show up.
My brother is a paramedic and he says their biggest problem is people walking around with injuries, making themselves worse, all the time saying that they're alright. He's seen people walking around with fractured spines, gashes, broken bones, and they can't feel them.

Kutipper,
You are welcome, just take the time to heal up properly.
I can understand wanting to share something with the community and I think that you did a pretty good job of not posting too many details about the crash.
I think that it is safe to say that we all feel as you do, that we have a connection with our bike(s).

IJM,
I'd say that that is also true of those involved in car-on-car crashes. Unless a doctor checks them out there is no way of knowing just what happened to them, and as you said not all of their injuries are going to present until a week (or possibly more depending on the type of injury) later.
Once shock sets in I think that it is safe to say that the injured party's judgment should not be trusted.
