After getting to ride with my grandson Tyler after a rather long respite, I had the chance to ride the tandem with my honey today.

It has been a pretty cold winter this year, and so my wife was a bit put off about riding. Then, about 2 months go, she finally went to the doctor due to a sore foot. Turns out she had a stress fracture. SO, two months in a soft cast and boot. Finally the dr gave her a clean bill of health.

So today we got to go out together. She was a bit concerned about going out after such a long layoff from all forms of exercise, but I assured her that we would take it very easy. We rode with my buddy who was hit back in mid January. He was out for the 5th time since, and his neurologist wanted him to keep the HR below 120. We stayed with him and another guy who didn't want a hammer fest.

It was about 68 at the start, and warmed to the mid 70s by the rides end. We got in a nice leisurely 30 miles.

Great you could get out on your bike together. There's nothing better.

I looked at your ride and thought, there are a couple of descent climbs in this - and then I looked at the scale

Yeah, in FLA a fish scale in the road is a climb.

It's great that you got your stoker, stok'in again. My lady came out to fetch me in Oregon when I had finished the Trans Am. She managed to fall up a cliff and broke her humerus and it wasn't funny. I couldn't get her to do anything until her surgeon told her to "go play rugby, you're fine." That took a year. Good on your wife for going out and turning the pedals. Glad you both had a good time.

I looked at that graph and my first impression was "Holy crap, look at that hill". Then I noticed that it was 13 feet.
Had a good laugh at myself.
