OK, I got a great deal on a Minoura maintenance stand (free!!), but it needed assembly. I contacted Minoura for parts. They told me the stand was discontinued three years ago, so they no longer have parts. W*T*F? This was a stand that sold for over $300 new (RS-6000). It is a nice stand, but it has some cheesy parts that will likely wear out.
I would be really torqued if I paid big money for the stand, had one plastic part wear out, and then had to toss it. Oh yeah, the main part that tightens the bike clamp is a sliding plastic part, which looks to me like it is the weak link on an otherwise pretty nice design.
Just another reason to stick with Parks instead. Makes me wonder about parts availability on my Spin Doctor Pro stand.
