Which side of the head tube do you run your brake cable? I get new bikes in with some on the left and others on the right. I like it run on the right. If the cable is long enough to spin the bars, it keeps it tuck in a little.
Which way do you like it and why?

I run it across the headtube so it runs down the left of the toptube. I run it like that because that's how I'm used to it.

On the right if I'm not running a gyro. I just like it that way.

there IS a 'best' way to route the cable, but it depends on which side your lever is on and which direction you spin the bars or whip. usually on the 'outside'
I ran it both ways with an uncut linear cable. it was long enough to where it was fine either way though. one way just looks 'neater'

I've felt that it always looks better to have it on the left side of the headtube if the lever is on the right side of the bars, but (because of the way I spin the bars, and because I like shorter cables), it worked better to have it on the right.

I had my break cables run through the main tube of the bike. Then put it directly into the middle portion of the back tire.
I have been doing this since I got my first bike probably 8-10 years ago. I find this set up very cool cause the cable does not look messy compared to either left or right.

Right side. That's the side the cable goes into my V brakes.

I try to run it as short as possible, I just leave enough slack to turn the bars 45 degrees each way.
