Anyone got any advise on what the best drink is for during a ride? (gatorade,Accelorade,Carb Boom, etc.)

Chocolate martini.

Okay, just kidding. You'll get lots of opinions on this, but the one I've seen commonly recommended is 50% water, 50% gatorade/powerade/accelerade. Most folks I've read have one bottle of just water, and one with the sports drink. A search should yield plenty of results on the topic.

I drink a variety of thinks I find that Propel, Powerade and Fruit2O are the best for me. I try to stay away from any energy drinks such as Red Bull or such, if im desperate of if I just want it ill get a Gatorade but I tend to stay away from it because though it is a rehydrates well, it is thus loaded with sugar.

water.

For carbs and sodium I just use Gel packs. For actual food, flatbread. It may not be as overall healthy as a cliff bar, but man if you get the right flatbreads, oh man do they hit the spot :)

DO DRINK: water,gatorade,powerade,things like that.

DON'T DRINK: Sodas,Energy Drinks, Anything high in sugar.

By drinking the do's, then yule be hydrated and not totally wiped out after a few hours of riding.

This is probably a personal thing to an extent.

Personally, I can't handle the traditional 'sports' drink during an intense ride, way too sweet. The sweetness seems to be exasperated from a hard workout.

I'll use Cytomax from Cytosport when needing something other than water. Funny, it tastes like @#%& if you drink it when not exercising, but is great while riding. Not too sweet and seems to hit the spot.

Cytomax is kinda expensive, but it does work well. I drink anything.
Much of the time I'll go for exercise drinks, but I get what I'm in the mood for. Sometimes that means lemonade, and sometimes iced tea. On hot days I love those little glass bottles of Starbucks iced coffee.

look, before any ride you need your water levels at a max, and that means drinking heaps of water the day before and in the morning. So when you start riding you are perfoming 100%. When you have drinks while your riding, u dont want sugar, but something that can replenise your fluids like 'glucose' and 'carbs' especially. Gatorade is a good source, but you can make up drinks yourself with 'glucose' powdering. Thats what i do :D

Hope this helps :)
