i think i may wish to do some mods ...

but i cant seem to find the RBCuZn-D rods that sells to international online ....

help, kindly please recommend me :(

Ceeway (http://www.ceeway.com/Framesaver.htm) sells internationally (at least to CAN). The Ni-silver is the Sif bronze no2 I think.

Have you tried local welding shops? Certainly they must carry brazing stuff. That's where I get the low fuming bronze, flux, etc. For silver solder (45, 56%, etc) eBay works sometimes.

I thought Sif was a brand. I've used quite a bit of nickel silver. We used it for brake/chainstay bridges and dropouts. I like low fuming bronze better now. One aspect of nickel silver is that you may be allergic or develop an allergy to it.

Usually this is a dermatologic reaction from jewelry, but brazing could vaporize nickel that could be inhaled and cause a respiratory reaction.

That said, I brazed dropouts using nickel-silver for years at Trek and never had a problem.

I had very mild resperatory symptoms the whole time I was there, don't know if it was the nickel or just the brazing fumes in general. I remember it positively, so bought some just to refresh my memory. I realized that I prefer to use LFB. It is nice to have some around when I need to braze stainless and don't want to waste silver.

hmmm , its ok i think, my skin is always senitive to almost everything .... (i get rashes even from using baby lotion ! ) but i used to using alcohol swaps swapping my skin, funny right ... :D

will worry the allergic if i can get some rods and braze (thanks guys for the headup) ... meanwhile still searching high and low for a few pieces (low buget) :(

apparently, i think i need to change my rear drop- outs as it does not comes with a derailer attachment hole :( (cheap bike) and learn the process while making myself a 'table' ......
