Northern California - Harassment by SF Taxi

I was heading up 3rd St today at 10:50am in the left hand lane (one-way street). All of the sudden I hear "Honk Honk Honk Honk" "Get in the right lane!" repeatedly. From Bryant to Harrison this guy was menacing me. Royal Cab #1346.

He pulled next to an SFPD officer to complain about me using the left lane and taking his picture. Don't know what the officer told him, but he quit yelling at me.

Looks like a one-way street. What a maroon. Maybe the cop told him to learn to read the Driver's Manual?

Must be a great feeling to have a jerk told what's up by the SFPD. Good for you for holding your ground.

I used to let Bike messengers draft me down 3rd street since it was usually into the wind...I always got a thumbs up. To tell you the truth they were pretty invisible when I was driving cause we all had the same efficient groove. That driver must have been a newbie.

He wasn't harassing you. He just wanted to make sure that you weren't in the way when the accellerater of his Toyota stuck . . . . :rolleyes:

I'd also call whomever regulates cabs in SF, and report him/her.

FlyingDutchGirl, glad you weren't hurt in the incident! And props for standing your ground. The most ignorant drivers are typically also the most obnoxious and this guy is a classic example. Now just watch out for those Muni drivers....
