Western Canada - Calgary Ride to Work Day, 2010

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Holy....
They finally did it, they moved the date. 7th May 2010.

I seem to remember 2 of the last 3 years being freezing and/or snowing, I could never figure why they insisted on April. Of course, it's Calgary, May isn't guaranteed good weather either.
See you out there.

Hey!
We are really excited to be a part of this event. Hopefully the weather is nice.
We will be setup at the intersection of 8th & 8th SW with free goodies, a mechanic on site for minor adjustments, and some friendly faces! Pop by on your way to work and say hi!
Cheers
Sean

Seems they got the cause and effect reversed. Apparently winter will prevail until after bike to work day. Thank goodness they didn't schedule it for July:)

the weather bunnies -- uh, i mean 'environment canada' -- says 'freezing rain' for friday. actually, they say 'mixed precipitation', but we all know that's a bogus euphemism for 'freezing rain'... kinda like saying 'sweep and clear' instead of 'search and destroy' or 'post traumatic stress disorder' instead of 'shell shock'.
ugh.

ugh.Oh Man!
I really need to get back on the bike. Work has been stupid this week, can't hack riding in and all the crud we've been dealing with, I really want to ride in Friday. I guess I'll have to put the damn studs back on again!

tomorrow has been upgraded by the shamans and chicken-entrail-inspectors at environment canada to "partly cloudy". since this is the under-24-hour forecast, which i believe is done by going to the top observation deck of the petro canada tower and looking west, the chances it's accurate are much higher.
