Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - How much would you pay for a Van Dessel CRB?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I heard all these stories about the CRB running out of stock/not in production anymore..
so i was thinking...how much would you guys be willing to pay for one from ebay (EXCLUDING shipping)...
the thing is that somebody local is selling her CRB (complete bie) for $250 so it would be nice if i could ride it for a while (carefully) then be able to sell it off ebay for the same price (again, excluding shipping)...
how likely is this gonna happen?
thanks guys :)
If it's the right size, I'll take it today and save you a lot of trouble...

you've been posting about this bike for a few days. I doubt it's still around at that price.

I would agree. Bikes at that price go fast. I had same problem when I researched it and lost the first deal.
If it fits, buy it. If not, move on.

I bought mine new and had to wait a few weeks. They tossed in two nice saddle bags for my trouble. It's a great bike and one of my favorites.
I bought a CRB frame for my wife and built it up. Only thing I don't like about it is the paint. I can't wait for the winter when it becomes my bike for a bit.

i think the older style is one of the coolest frames around. i would pay top dollar if someone wants to unload one.... ?
If you don't mind the lack of brake bosses, you should look at the Straight Up. Thats one I would love to make into a fixed. Check e-bay here and there., sometimes you can find a complete super cheap.
you mean you guys would probably buy the CRB for $250 + shipping?

I'll give ya 5 bucks and a sixpack of VB for it and not a penny less!
no i'm really being serious here, since i'm not sure i can go SS for sure so i wanna know that somebody else can 'take care' of it for $230 (perhaps) + full shipping/packing should I decide to get a geared roadie in the future...
