Model 822 XT telescopes across the bed and can hold two bikes.

Not that exactly, but I use the Saris (http://www.saris.com/c-17-.aspx) track in the back of my minivan, and it works very well. I don't need to bolt it down, and it doesn't slide around on the mat, but probably would need to be secured in a pickup.

Have that rack and use it no problem with the tandem. Just make sure you get it tight when installing, which is easy.

Thanks, Thule said no to tandems but they let you put 4 regular bikes on it. That made no sense to me.

I have the rack and I have taken the tandem and two other bikes in the truck with no problems.
