I was wondering whether anyone has done a Rohloff brazeon on the downtube (maybe at a horizontal right angle to the bar), or anywhere else for that matter?

What is the diametre of the tube required and the length of tubing necessary? I believe it is a 1" or 25.4mm diametre tube - for MTBs.

As I like round lugs on brake bridges and seatstay bridges are there any for the tubing in question or is filet brazing the only polished answer? Any pictures?

The alternatives look a bit ugly.

Is the German handlebar the NÖLL thingy (translates from German to English as: racing wheel)?

Is cabling the issue? Can it be done internally, or is this too bent up for the cabling?

Rohloff braze-ons are on the chain stays. They keep the hub from slipping in the dropouts (Rohloffs with a torque bar can be mounted to frames without the Rohloff specific dropouts).

Are you talking about a place to mount the shifter?

I don't know from that/several question/s. I have see dongles that mount the shifter on the stem, that could be mounted on the frame. The rest of it I don't get.

I usually just go around a lot of euro sites to get ideas.

Sorry, my terminology may be wrong - I thought a brazeon was what it sounded like - something you brazed on.

Yep, I'm asking whether you can mount a shifter onto a bar that is brazed, tig welded (or whatever) onto the dontube somewhere near the headtube.

After a lot of searching I came up with what seems the best aesthetic way of dealing with the Rohloff shifter - with the aid of the Rohloff website.

A specially made headstem with ability to accept the twist grip (which is 6 cms long)

There's another picture on the site somewhere that is hard to find.

Anyone game to make one and post a picture of your efforts? I'm keen to get one as it isn't cluttering the handlebars.
