All you haters...

Here's what it is so far:
http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/8634/photodq.jpg (http://img101.imageshack.us/i/photodq.jpg/)

We're adding a side car fabricated out of the rear triangle out of the top frame and a shopping cart. Wanted to get a thread going for comments and suggestions and will keep updating pics as we get closer to finishing...

The side car should make it much much more ride-friendly by helping balance the top riders. We've seen some other tandem talls but basically with chopper forks to keep the stoker low for a lower center of gravity. We wanted to do a straight-up tandem tall, and this was our solution for balance...

Our welder is crazy and thinks it's not tall enough... He wants to add another side car so both can act like training wheels to balance a third frame on top.

Funny you mention that. We wanted the side car done so we could joust and do the chariot race. We didn't get it done in time, but I rode it solo about 5 miles to Slaughterama and saw Black Label actually had one of their own (we had never seen one before). We challenged them to a tandem tall joust which ended with me talking to four of them and nothing coming of it...

The sidecar will be low to keep a lower center of gravity on the side, and run a 20" BMX wheel to help with that... Our idea was to attach it by way of the welding to the bottom BB shells...

Side car is going to be detachable so it's taking a little longer than expected.

I'm just happy to know that the human race has just about run its course. The signs are everywhere.

I see tall bikes every once in awhile. I've always wondered about their intended purpose. Just fun I suspect. Well, until you need to stop and there's nothing to lean against.

They put one foot on the pedal, kick with the other foot and swing the other leg over while the bike is in motion.

Back in the day they were used for lighting gas street lamps, when penny farthings were scarce. Since then, fun.

Sometimes there will be a small step or peg low on the frame to climb on as well.

I put my right foot on the left chain stay and roll the bike with my hands on the handle bar. Just as it gets rolling I get my left foot on the left pedal and pull myself up.
If it's a fixie I get the left pedal in position behind the seat tube so it can get my foot on as the crank levels and then picks me up for the mount as it returns.

others just run with the bike and jump on.

People all around us are enjoying bicycles! And being imaginative!

The apocalypse is indeed nigh.
