Road Cycling - Cycling is great

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I wrote in the forum previously about my crash last week. Well I am back on the saddle and now I am up to 22 mile runs. I did it in 1hr and 14 minutes. I was not too tired, but it was getting dark. I can't wait to get to 50 miles per day. The problem I have is by the time I get home I can only put in about 1hr and 30 minutes before it gets dark.

How far do you live from work? Think about riding it. Also if you have 1.3 hrs of light and you want to ride more miles, it seems simple to me....just ride faster. :D It is great fun isn't it?

I live 18 miles from work, but for about 4 miles it is almost impossible to ride a bike. Construction and very, very narrow lanes. I am always scouting for alternate routes, but have found none. The other problem is there are no showers where I work. Anyone else face the same problem as far as no showers is concerned?

I don't have a shower at work, but I only have a 4 mile ride and can get by with a towel and some cologn. If i were 18 miles away i'm sure i'd need one. :)
Not sure what your schedule is like, but if you don't have time for a longer ride after work, could you go for a ride before work? Exercise in the morning certainly gets me ready for the day, but sadly i rarely have the will power to wake up that much earlier.

Do a search in the Commute forum. This has been addressed countless times.
