Hi there,

I have the chance to buy this for $500.
What do you think it is worth? (once I change those ugly bars and brakes)
Thanks!

the value of this bike cannot be associated to a mere dollar amount. viewing a riding expereince on a fixed gear from the front-end investment, especially a bike of this caliber, is fatalistic.
what else would you do with the money that would bring you the encounters that riding this bike would? buy the bike. ride the bike. forget about the money spent. leave that thought at the river after crossing.

Does anyone know what year this might be from. I know Torelli discontinued their track frames. But don't know when.

I don't know. I have not yet seen the bike in person. All I have are the pictures. It looks like a suzue promax though. I will check it out in person before I buy.

I don't think it's a suzue. I'd guess a Suntour.
Yea, ride the bike, if it fits, go for it. IMO it's nicer than a new off the rack $500 bike.

Thing is I already have my IRO Mark V which I love a lot. My plan (if i buy this bike) is to take the best parts from both and build one bike with the nice stuff and one with the not quite as nice stuff. Sell the not-quite-as-nice-one on craigslist, ebay, here, etc. and brake even or get little extra.

that's a Sansin front hub.
