ride their bike to work?

I'm going to start biking to work this summer.

I rode in last Thursday, it was a blast.

I was just wondering if anyone did ride to work or had ever considered it.

P.S. I steer clear of Rte 59!

I lived in Plainfield my whole life until a few months ago. My parents still live there so I commute around there a lot still, but I'm usually kinda tired from my ride from Chicago to Plainfield :). I used to commute everywhere though. I lived near Plainfield South Highschool and commuted to JJC every day and to Bicycles etc a lot and to a lot of my friends houses in the 135th/route 59-ish area and the Joliet Metra.

I would love to ride my bike back and forth to work, but I work out in Sugar Grove (28 miles away) and the communting time would kill me. We do have a club ride (Joliet Bicycle club) out of mather woods on Rewick just West of the bridge every Saturday, and we are currently going around 40 miles on that ride.

i work north in Naperville. i wouldnt wish for my worst enemy to attempt a commute to work from Plainfield to Naperville.

as for local rides check out Naperville Bike Club, Endure IT bike shope, and like mentioned above, the JBC. all three have onlines sites with ride calendars. later.

Mebert,Sugar Grove is a haul. Maybe you can figure out a route that has you biking and driving? It's nice to know about local groups. I actually ride through Mather Woods as part of my trip. Gotta tell ya though, I get all messed up in Springbank. I'll have to check it out, but right now 40 miles is a little far for me.

Aham, you might be surprised at the creative routes you find although I'll admit it's hard to find a decent North/South road. Google maps has bike routes now but like most maps, they're not completely reliable. Maybe you should talk to ScottNotBombs about riding north to Napervegas?

Thanks!
