Has anyone found a map of the route for this years Hemet DC? All I can find is 2009's route.

I doubt there's much change, last year's route seemed to work well. Still, you never know . . .

I'll ride the first loop, then do a pain evaluation before heading out on the 2nd loop. My back is still hurting and I'm not sure Motrin will take me through 200 miles.

That's kind of what I was thinking too Rick. What time you heading out? I assume you're staying at the Motel 6.

Yes Metric Man,

Staying at Motel 6. Will start when my wife says we will, so approx. 4:30 AM I would think (that's when we started last year). I'll be riding with her (Jackie) and Rosanne until it gets light (othewise I'll likely get lost!). Then take off at my own (still kinda slow) pace.

After the first century I'll see how much pain I've experienced, check my attitude for "ability to withstand more pain" and decide yes or no re: the 2nd loop.

Riding wise, I enjoy the 2nd loop more, so that will be a consideration too. Hope to see you out there! Will probably be wearing my CA Triple Crown Gold Thousand Mile Club jersey, riding my Ti GT.

Look for this odd couple. cccorlew (in the red) and me, yours truly: Lanceoldstrong. This is us at the finish of the Solvang Double on March 27th. Our wives let us get out again this weekend and he talked me into doing Hemet. We are coming down from the Bay Area. See you there!

I am easy to spot, you just don't see very many cyclists with beards, unless you count recumbent trike riders as cyclists. In that case beards seem to be as common to them as our Lycra is to us roadies.

Well, it looks like I might be there too. Got an Eagles concert Friday night, so I might just be driving up at Oh dark thirty. Hope to see you guys there.

See you somewhere out on the course Victor! Jackie and I are staying at the (Hemet DC Headquarters) Motel 6, but we're starting at "Oh Dark Thirty" which should be about 4:30 AM (hopefully not any earlier).

If I survive Hemet I'll be at Eastern Sierra, though hopefully riding in better weather than we had last year (couldn't be any worse?).

Edit: May be starting at 4:00 AM.

No one else posted results yet?

My total time was right at 16 Hours, 13 hours 34 minutes riding time. I started at 3:30 AM and finished at dusk, 7:30 PM.

Excellent weather, great people working the checkpoints, totally excellent food at lunch and dinner. The BBQ chicken esp. rocks!

Saw Victor out there, Lance and Curtis for a short moment, Dante and lots of other forum riders!

Well, I ended up with 6:04:30 in saddle time for 100 miles...wanted to get it under 6 hours but I didn't push hard enough in the first 45 miles and ended up really pushing in the last 18...and I was doing it alone at that point. I could have done it if there were a couple of riders with me, but it was not to be. Next year!

Hi Mark,

Didn't see you out there, but I was probably gone from lunch after the first 100 and out on the 2nd before you finished.

Rick, it was great to see you back on the bike. I had a wonderful time having dinner with you and Jackie, even if the guy next to us got sick. I finished with a ride time of 12:43 and overall of 14:35.

Not to mention (but I will) the way they painted the rocks in the lawns green so they'd (kinda) look like grass.

You just never know what you'll see on a double.
