Hey guys, I am new to the fixed gear community, and would like to get into the scene. I got myself a used pair of Aerospoke wheels from a 6-speed bike. The front one should fit easily but the rear one has the 6 speed cog installed.

Question is what do I have to do to convert it to a fixed gear?

Lastly, the paint of the wheels are chipping off, and was wondering what are the proper steps to paint them? Can I powdercoat them?

Thanks guys!

For the rear, 1st you need to make sure it has a fixed hub( flipflop --fixed/fixed or fixed/free). 2nd, you would need to take off the 6 speed and install a fixed cog w/ lockring.

You cannot powdercoat them, as they are not made of metal.

Thanks guys! Are the hubs from an Aerospoke the same size or type as any other fixed gear hubs?
