Can a LBS fix a bent rim on a Giant Cypress or do I have to go for a new one. What rim can I get that is stronger than stock for this bike my wifes, as I know this won't be the last time she gets hit by another rider. Little pecker head kid this time it was, I knew it was going to happen, sucks
Thanks Tont
Chances are the LBS can true up the wheel just fine unless it's very badly distorted. Take it down there and have them look at it. If ot can't be fixed, they can easily replace it.
A stronger rim is not likley to help. By their nature, wheels do not have a lot of lateral strength. If you get a large side impact, bad things are going to happen. Best to stay away from uncontrolled bicycles.
