Well, I think I'm hooked on this LD thing... I've never done more that 70km a day, and so I decided to go for the "metric century" today and did it in 3 hours and 53 seconds. I didn't check the wind before I left and my route had at least 60km going right into the wind :(
I took a few short rest stops and almost lost my **** around 80k in on account of the wind and the hills... but I turned a corner around 85km and was gifted with tail-wind and downhills for the rest of the ride, so I made up for some lost time and felt a bit better about the whole ride.
My "training" thus far has consisted of a 20km r/t commute and the occasional recreational ride into the country... I'm pretty surprised that I made the 100 and even more surprised I did it as quickly as I did. I think I will be hurting tomorrow though :twitchy:
